How to create subtasks for the Scheduled created task automatically?

Musa Cuvarov March 27, 2022

For tracking the daily tasks I have created the process control project and want to create a recurring task with certain subtasks.

I've actually applied the workaround described

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Marketplace-Apps-Integrations/How-to-create-new-issue-with-sub-tasks-when-creating-a-new/qaq-p/1261952

Is there an exact solution for this purpose?

Regards.

Hi @Musa Cuvarov

Did the workaround not work for your requirement?

This should work...

  • Trigger: Scheduled
  • Action: Create Issue
    • Project/Issue Type must be set to a specific value
  • Branch: For most recently created Issue
    • Action: Create Issue
      • Set Issue Type to Sub-task; Parent Issue to Current Issue

Add additional Sub-task actions for all child tasks needed.

Is this what you're looking to achieve? :)

Hi @Ste Wright  it works,

but I thought about the possibility of the created simultaneously with the triggered task - the another one)

so I think there should be a trigger to define exactly, for which task we want to create subtasks.

Thank you

Hi @Musa Cuvarov

Can I clarify the need here...

  • Schedule Task is created
  • Sub-tasks are created - not for the above Task though, for some other Task?

If yes, how is the "other" Task identified?
