I was looking on a way to trace tickets based on last public or private comment.
First i want to create a read only custom field to save current date from automation.
When i try to create a custom field, under type there isn't anything called "date" There is a "date picker" but not "date"
So my question here is, how can i create a custom read only field to save date programmatically, via automation?
I specifically need a Date field so i can create reports based on dates (not based on Text) any suggestions?
We are using Jira cloud.

The Date Picker is indeed the Date type field - you should select that.
You make the field read only by removing it from the Edit screen.
