If a type a Jira issue key into a Slack chat, e.g. TEST-1234, is there a way to make it automatically link to the corresponding issue?
Hi @Chris Taylor , just adding some additional information to Grigory's answer!
A project needs to be connected to a particular channel in Slack for the issue preview to work. You can see which Jira projects are connected to a Slack channel by using the /jira manage command in the channel. Once the project is connected (you can mute the notifications in the Jira interface if you don't want notifications), then the issue key mention will trigger a preview and you can use /jira KEY-19 (or whatever the issue key is) to take action on the issue.
As an aside, using the full URL for the issue (e.g. yoursite.atlassian.net/browse/KEY-19 ) will always trigger an issue preview, regardless of if the project is already connected or not.
Cheers,
Daniel
It works now, looks like it wasn't connected properly.

Hi @Chris Taylor and welcome to our community!
What happens now when you send the issue key? As defined here:
that is exactly what should happen, it is called Issue Preview functionality.
