Capacity Planning with JIRA

Amaresh Mishra May 9, 2017

For long I have seen people struggling with capacity planning and resource utilization in JIRA. I have tried to solve this problem and built a new plugin which might help our cause to an extent. Please play around with this plugin and share your views. Would love to work on your feedbacks.

Overview:

The Organize Capacity Planner lets you plan and track the SCRUM teams capacity in your organization. You can create different SCRUM teams and assign team members and their capacity allocation to the respective teams. As part of your sprint planning you can review and adjust team capacity for vacations, team overheads, unplanned work and add adhoc members to the team members for a sprint if needed. You can validate you sprint plan against the planned capacity against the team members. With Organize Capacity Planner you don’t need to use excels and notebooks for sprint capacity planning and capacity utilization.

Cheers,

Amaresh

In Rally we can track team status. Team member and tasks assigned to him, the status of the tasks, assigned and actual hours against each task.

Does your app help with this?

@Vasavi Kakkat JIRA native functionality lets you view the tasks (with status) assigned to users and these can be grouped by stories. Our app lets you view the time planned, actual time spent by users on epics, stories within a release.
