Hey all Atlassian and Jira-Automation Gurus,
I've spent a few days pestering google, reddit, Jira Automation docs, and Atlassian Community posts for this question and I can't find the answer. I assume this means it cannot be done but I gotta ask anyway.
I'm getting automated Jira tickets created by a security tool. The data that is included in the Description of the ticket is severely lacking, but an attached JSON is included in the ticket that has all the info my devops engineers would need to quickly address the ticket.
Is there any way to use Jira Automation to open that JSON attachment? And - ideally - print the entire text from the attachment to the Description or a Comment of the ticket in question? If I can get to that step, I know I can use Jira Automation to filter that mass of text down to the important bits.
For a little more info: the closest I've gotten is having Jira Automation create a comment with {{attachment.content}} or {{attachment}} in it, but these just give information about the attachment, they don't read the attachment.
Based on the available {{attachment.[option]}}'s here: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-smart-values-issues/ and the various other lists of smart values, it feels like I'm asking a bit too much.
Thanks for any help!
