Best way to migrate Big picture from Server to Cloud?

nahom_yonas May 2, 2024

Hello,

I'm currently facing some challenges with migrating Big Picture from Jira Server to Jira Cloud. Despite using the JCMA tool, I haven't been able to achieve a flawless 100% success rate when moving from our on-premises production environment to the cloud sandbox. It seems like not all projects are making the transition smoothly.

I'm also considering the option of XML migration. If anyone has experience with this method, I'd greatly appreciate any insights or advice you can offer.

Thank you for your assistance!

@nahom_yonas, I would reach out to the vendor supporting the app. They are the ones that will best be able to support you.

As for migrating Jira via XML, Atlassian has discontinued this option and it is no longer available. You will need to migrate using JCMA.

Thanks Kian, I have contacted the support but I was hoping for quicker answers here.

Ahh I see, thanks for information regarding the XML import option.

In case anyone are experiencing the same issue:

In Big pictures documentation, the latest version for server was 8.12 (when writing this). However, data center had a later version of 8.32. Updated the addon with this version and migration went smoothly.
