Affects Version not updating in edit screen

Hi All,
We have a listener script created which will be triggered whenever new version is released. Once the script is triggered it will update all the bug issues Affects Version/s field with the newly released version. 
This script is working as expected and we are able to see the newly released version updated in Affects Version/s field.

But we are not able to see those updated version if we try to edit the issue/ affects versions field.

Please let me know if there is any resolution for this issue.
