{{issue.assignee.displayName}} is empty in Teams Web Request

Pejman Farahi November 13, 2024

I have an automation using the assignee smart value for my Teams Web Request. All of the other smart values I use work correctly but no matter what value I use for assignee it never populates.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Hi @Pejman Farahi -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

By default, when you make edits to an issue in an automation rule, it does not automatically reload the data.  Instead, the issue contains the values at the time the rule triggered.

When you want the data to refresh, add the Re-fetch Issue action after that Assign Issue action and before the Send Web Request one: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-automation-actions/#Re-fetch-issue-data

Kind regard,
Bill
