Is there a way to prevent creating tickets in Jira via the customer portal if there is already 12 issues in progress if there are less than one then the user can create a ticket, or can we show an alert on the request type that already 12 issues are in progress you cannot create another one.?

Hi Muhammad,

Unfortantetlyin Jira Cloud it is not possible to use JQL in workflow conditions or validators provided by ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud.

This is because Workflow validators use the Jira Expression framework provided by Atlassian, and the Jira Expression Framework does not provide any way to use JQL in an expression.

This means that it will not be possible to write a validator in Jira cloud to validate if more than 12 issues are in progress and to block the creation of an issue when this is the case.
