How to automatically add info panel on issue creation?

Hello guys, good morning!

Generally I use three info panels when I wright my user stories.

I would like to know if there is any way to do an automation so the text in the image below became a default text on issue creation.

I was thinking on something in this node editor.

If there is any documentation that could guide me, I'd be happy to read.

First of all, welcome to the Atlassian community.

Reviewing your question, it seems to me that you want to have a template on the description prior to the moment of creation, if that's the case, then automation trigger On Issue Created won't work since it triggered after the issue is created.

In order to have a template on the description on Jira Cloud, you would need to use a workaround because as it is a system field, it doesn't allow a default text.

There is a request regarding this matter to Atlassian: Ability to set a default description template - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-42197

Having said that, the workaround is:

• Create a new custom field that has a default value in it.
• Replace the Description field for the newly created custom field in the issue create screen.
• Copy the value of the custom field into the description field via Automation rule after the issue is created.
• Hide the custom field in the View/Edit screens and use the Description field instead.

There is also the alternative of using apps, such as:

• Description Templates for Jira (Cloud and Server)
• Issue Templates for Jira (Cloud and Server)
• Default Values for 'Create Issue' screen (only server)
