I'd like to get alerted for any time my name is @mentioned or when I am assigned a ticket. This will allow for prompt responses and reduce missed ticket alerts buried in emails.

Could you please assist in guiding me on how to set this up between slack and jira?

I know in private cloud, I would create a private slack channel, add the Jira admin to the channel to complete the setup, and then receive alerts going forward.

Not sure if that's the same case but will leave it up to the experts.

Hi @Haroon Habibi

It seems like you are looking for personal notifications. To set up personal notifications, type /jira notify in any channel. You can select an entire Jira site and specify when you want to be notified (when you are mentioned, when you are an assignee or a reporter, etc.).

P.S. Type /jira help to see what else Jira Cloud for Slack can do for you

Hi @Vitalii Saienko ,

I am getting this error with type /jira notify in slack here is the error => ( /jira is not a valid command in slack all message that starts with "/" character interpreted as commands ) if you trying to send a message and not run a command try preceding the "/" with an empty space) do you have any other suggestions/solutions since I am getting the above error?

THank you!

I'm sorry @Haroon Habibi. For some reason, I assumed you have Jira Cloud for Slack app already installed. To use the app, first, you need to install it and then type /jira notify command to set up personal notifications. Here's the link to the app itself https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1216863/jira-cloud-for-slack-official

Here's documentation if you need help with the app. You can also type /jira help in Slack to see what our app can do.

I am not using the cloud version i am using the data center version

@Haroon Habibi for Jira Data Center, we have Jira Server for Slack integration https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1220099/jira-server-for-slack-official. For instruction, check the "How do I set up personal notifications?" section here https://confluence.atlassian.com/slack/using-jira-applications-with-slack-966662163.html.
