Move Epics out of Sprint if Stories are in Backlog

I have a long-duration Epic (2 years), that has a bunch of Stories associated with it. Most of the Stories have been completed in previous Sprints. We are planning the remaining Story of the Epic about three to five Sprints from now. The Epics, however, continue to show up in each Sprint even if we are not working on it. So the question:

Can we hide the Epic from the Sprint without removing the related Story? Is there another option?

Thanks,

Randall

YES, it is possible to hide epics from sprints . But sorry I have not had a chance to explore how to enable it on Jira . My admin did it for me.
