Being able to add and use checklists directly in Jira issues is something many users ask about. They are also quite popular on Trello. It is therefore not a surprise that there are a few apps on the Atlassian Marketplace available that extend the Jira issue view with checklists.
Checklists can be used for various purposes. They serve great as a help to track the definition of done or acceptance criteria. Many users also add them to support testing.
Checklist apps come with many cool features and they are usually way more advanced than just a standard list of items with checkboxes next to them. Many apps allow automated addition of checklists to issues, they can enforce that items are checked before moving issues between statuses, they can have statuses assigned or even be assigned to users.
