Integrate JIRA with testing tool

Need help!

The scenario is like.  I have created a workflow where my manager can initiate a project.As soon as the project is initiated it is assigned to a team member. The team member based on the available information he performs a security test with Nessus manually and update the status in Jira saying the test is complete and then the report is delivered to client.

Now i want to integrate a testing tool say Nessus 7.x, Acunetix and Hp Fortify with JIRA. So that when I click on the initiate button. A automated scan should trigger to Nessus pull a raw result and save it to JIRA automatically

How do i integrate a testing tool. Is it possible to integrate a testing tool with JIRA.

How helpful will Jenkins integrating with JIRA be for this issue.

I heard it is not possible to integrate Nessus 7.x with JIRA. Why is that a problem. Is there a Solution for it
