How do you inspect during daily scrums?

The Scrum Guide says that the daily scrum is meant to "inspect how progress is trending toward completing the work in the Sprint Backlog". What are some ways you are inspecting?

Many Daily scrums go from team member to team member answering the questions, "What did I work on yesterday? What am I working on today? And what blockers have I run into?"

I've heard them be even more casual than that.

For more on this, check out: https://www.atlassian.com/agile/scrum/ceremonies

We use a handy bot that we built for Slack & Stride (Goodbye, Stride): Stand.Bot
This automatically asks our distributed team the stand-up questions and they can answer at a convenient time in their time zone and directly reference a JIRA ticket if needed.
This has several advantages:

-No more standups at crazy hours for our teammates in the rest of the world.

-Early detection of blockers, as we don't have to wait to be together to report issues.

-Since you can reference JIRA tickets, the information is quite complete.

-It will keep a record of your team's responses and automatically generates helpful reports.
