Automaticly log time moving issues on Kanban board

I have rewritten all my stories to "as a <user> i want <outcome> so i <rationale>" format and assigned to an Epic. I have also added Story points to each story.

Now i need to be able to log how long each story is taking to complete?

What is the easiest (least clicks) way to do this?

Can time logging be setup when a user slides a card (changes status) between "In Progress" and "Paused"?

Hi Ben,

you can use standard time log functionality inside of JIRA - like on this screenshot from the story detail view. This is for Scrum.Screen Shot 2017-05-15 at 10.47.40.png

As for Kanban you can also do it from the Kanban backlog view under Log Time - see below

You can set up remaining time, update estimates and reduce etc.

If your other question was whether the time can be tracked to check how long the issue was in the specific status then you can't do it as standard JIRA functionalities but there are plug ins for this https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.obss.plugin.time-in-status/server/overview

I hope this helps
