I would like to create an automation that is triggered by the creation of an issue, and creates and asset, and THEN edits a custom asset object field in that issue with the newly created asset.

Hello  @Will Corbett ,

Welcome to the community! I'm thrilled to greet you and extend a warm welcome.

I understand that diving into automation can feel a bit daunting at first. It's a new territory for many, but fear not, there are resources available to help you along the way.

I'd like to point you towards some helpful links that may assist you in your journey:

While these resources are valuable, I also encourage you to give it a try yourself. Learning by doing often yields the best results. Remember the old adage, "It's better to teach how to fish than to give the fish." By experimenting and learning firsthand, you'll not only gain a deeper understanding but also be better equipped to seek guidance when needed.

If you encounter any challenges along the way, don't hesitate to return and share your experiences with us. Whether it's troubleshooting specific issues or seeking advice on more complex scenarios, the community is here to support you. And don't forget about the handy functionality of exporting automation rules in JSON format, it can be a lifesaver!

Sometimes, the best way to improve is by tackling real-life cases or diving into detailed specifications. Every situation is unique, and there may be multiple solutions to explore based on specific requirements. So, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.

I hope this provides some helpful guidance as you embark on your automation journey.

Regards,
Sergio
