Automatically calculate time when item is transacted

I wanted to know how this can be done, I have a problem, when I use time control, I am forced to enter the value, so I wanted to know if with an intelligent value it is possible to do this automatic calculation of the item when it moves to another stage .

There is one method from which you can achieve this but it requires an automation rule.

1: Create two Fields - Date and Time: e.g A and B.

When the issue transitions to status In Progress field A is set to {{now}} and when it transitions from In Progress to Done then field B is set to {{now}} and calculates the time difference to another field, and clears the  A and B fields.
