Hello @ChuckieAJ,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

When creating new columns/status on a project, the statuses on the dropdown menu will show in alphabetical order.

I tested on my local site by creating the Cancelled and Reopened statuses and even if they are added as the last columns, the Cancelled, for example, will be shown before the "In progress" status.

This was tested on a next-gen project.

If you are using a classic project, you can change the opsbar-sequence on the workflow properties.

Regards,
Angélica

Thanks. I am using a Next-Gen project.

This sounds fundamentally wrong to me. We should be able to have these items in a specific order IMHO.
