Calendar is a super handy tool when you need to visualize your projects in time. It helps you easily spot critical deadlines to keep your team up to date for better transparency into your workflow and deliver work on time.
If you’re looking for a quick way to see Jira data on the calendar, Planyway for Jira is the perfect solution. The app allows you to choose between two views — monthly calendar or timeline view, so that you can keep working with the one that fits your projects better.
Now, let’s explore both views in more detail:
When you start working with Planyway, you’re suggested to match Planyway start and end dates with Jira fields. Based on these parameters, cards show up on the calendar view.
In order to schedule an issue, you may add dates inside Jira cards or simply drag cards from the task list and drop them on the calendar. The issue color will help you understand the issue type.
If you’d like to see only certain information on the calendar, apply filters. With their help, you can filter issues by member, label, status, issue type, and completion status.
Timeline is ideal for those who need to get a better overview across what the team is working on to distribute work pieces and balance the workload.
Issues can be allocated and scheduled just by dragging cards to the right date and person. Then, you can move them along the timeline to reschedule, or move to the other lane to reassign the card. Stretching allows you to adjust the duration.
If you want to get more insight into workload management, you may switch to the Workload tab.
Just stretch cards to the right or left and choose the optimal balance between task duration and the number of working hours. The indicators above issues are calculated depending on the original estimate added in Jira cards and daily capacity set in the settings.
