creating a service desk project

Benjamin Lui July 14, 2020

Hi, I'm new to Jira Service Desk and I am wanting to test it out as we are looking for a replacement to our current ticketing system. I am trying to create a service desk project however, the only option I see is "software". Should I be seeing a "service desk" option and do I need to get in touch with my admin to get this added?

Hello @Benjamin Lui ,

Service desk and software are two different products. Please check with your organization administrator if you have permission to access this product, or your organization has purchased a service desk.

When you click on create a project you should see a menu of different JIRA projects available if you are looking at classic view you would see:

Service Desk

Software

Business.

That screen is next-gen template.
