What does “Enter a valid preset value” mean?

Shi Huang February 14, 2025

I have recently licensed 2 new users for my project. Both of them have already logged in, but every time I try to assign them to a specific request type or request form, I get an error message saying that it cannot be saved: “Enter a valid preset value”

From that moment on, I can no longer save anything on the page. The save button keeps turning endlessly. I then have to restart the entire page. What is the reason for this?

Hi @Shi Huang

Welcome to the community.

Can you provide more context, like screenshots.

Are you trying to set a preset value in a request type?

Hey Marc,

thanks for your reply, but I can't give you much more information than that. I have attached a few screenshots for you.

Hi @Shi Huang

The new users, or the user you want to set as default assignee, have they been granted a JSM license and have they been added to the project and granted the role "Service Desk Team"

Hi @Marc - Devoteam ,

yes they have. But we have solved the problem, thank you very much. It was actually not due to the user but a problem with the admin roles.
