Trigger an email to a group when a sev 1 issue is entered

I want to notify a group of people via email that a sev 1 has been entered by the customer. I may also want to do the same if a sev 1 bug is entered - send it to the dev management team. 

How do I do this?  I have no idea how to automate in Jira so I'd need a pretty descriptive solution! :)
