I have a server based solution using the Service Desk. There are times that a comment is added, etc. and our customers get the same email multiple times. It is not consistent so I have been unable to reproduce on demand. Does anyone have any idea of what causes this and/or a remedy for it?
Could the same user be listed as the reporter, a participant, and/or a watcher? This could potentially generate multiple emails.
If this solves the problem, please do "accept" this answer so others can benefit.
Cheers,

Thank you. We will take a look and see if that's what is happening.

I have verified that it is happening even when not in the scenario you described above. A user in the service-desk-agent role got to of the exact same emails and were only a watcher. Open to any other idea.
