Hello.

I want to install JIRA Servicedesk Server in a Windows machine.

Now I am using SQL Server 2014, which is in a different machine (another ip).

I think my alternatives to connect JIRA Servicedesk Server to SQL Server 2014 are using a user just for jira or maybe using windows authentication user.

Which one would you recommend? And how can I do it?

Hi Hugo,

Welcome around!

It's definitely a better idea to use a jira users (not Windows authentication) in my opinion (not even sure you can user Windows auth). There's an interesting step-by-step guide here:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/connecting-jira-applications-to-sql-server-2012-802592195.html

Once you're all set, you might start JIra's install and provide the credentials from above steps to the installer. Do not forget to make sure network is OK (firewall, proxies etc...).

Hope this helps!

Cheers
