We have a JIRA instance within firewall with JIRA service Desk plugin installed. We are planning to provide access to JIRA Service Desk to our customers but we are not ready to expose the JIRA instance URL (for security reasons) outside our firewall. I read that we can provide access only to JSD not JIRA. However our concern is not to expose the end point of JIRA completely.
Please let me know if the following can be possible:
We host JIRA instance outside our firewall and install JSD plugin in it but point out the JSD plugin to access all the data pointing to our main JIRA within firewall? Please let me know if this is clear or if you need more information in this regard.
Thanks
No. The Service Desk is an addon, it runs entirely within the JIRA you install it inside. It can't work outside that framework.
