Google (G-Suite) account failed authentication - custom email for JIRA Service Desk

Hi, I'm having an issue here as well. I've read the GSuite stopped supporting "less secure apps" on in June 2020 for new connections.  What is the alternative for now until Jira offers an OAuth option?

I believe creating an App password for it should work.

It looks like Google rolled back this requirement.  The problem was that we had access to "less secured apps" turned on for Gsuite but needed it enabled for that user as well.  It's working now.  Thanks for your response though.
