Change a field when ticket is assigned to a specific agent

Hi all,

 

is there a possibility to automate a filed change based on who is the ticket assigned to?

I need a field to change when someone assigns a ticket to a specific agent (or list of agents).

Welcome to Atlassian Community!
The built-in automation in Jira does not have the trigger "Assignee changed" or "Issue assigned", for example, so for this automation that you need that when an issue is assigned a custom field value is changed, it will not be possible to use the automation in Jira, it will be necessary to use an add-on. The add-on that has this option is Automation for Jira (there is a free version that you can test to confirm if it works for your environment).
Here is an example that may work for your use case:
