Can you programatically open the Request Widget without it always being visible on the site?

My idea is to have a custom trigger for the JSM Request Widget in a different section of my application so it isn't visible at all times. I'd like to not have the widget button available all the time and bring it up with a custom button instead.

Any ideas?

Hi Conor,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

Please note that making any customizations to the product code, in this case, JSM Widget code is outside of our Support Scope as mentioned in our Support Offerings. We are tracking similar requests below - JSDCLOUD-13614 and JSDCLOUD-6239 to add more customization options to JSM Widget code.

However, I did some digging and found a community article that talks about a similar use case on what you are trying to achieve:

Please check the above article and try the suggested solution, which seems to be working for few customers.

For any extended queries regarding this customization in the JSM Widget script, please feel free to reach out to our Developer Community who can assist you further.

Regards,
Anusha A
