Any recommendations for JSM Assets reporting?

Pravin April 11, 2024

Hello,

We are exploring "Jira Service Management Assets (Insights)" for asset management (hardware).

Reporting and data representation is a important part for us.

The native Asset reports are not very useful.

Is there any solution or addon, that can help generate good dashboards (with charts, etc.) and reports based on the object attributes ?

Thank you!

You would either need to get onto the Enterprise plan so you get access to Atlassian Analytics or get one of the report apps available in the Marketplace in order to report on assets data. I am pretty sure that eazyBI can generate assets reports.

Thank you!

I am on Enterprise plan. But I don't see an option to generate collective chart based on Asset Schema within Analytics. Where should I be looking?

There is a Reports for assets dashboard template that you can start with, just make sure that your data source contains JSM projects.

Thank you Mikael.

I am looking for generating reports directly out of Asset Attributes (without having any dependencies on JSM issues)

The tables for Assets live within the JSM section, but when you set up your data connection you have the option to only select your Assets.

Hi! If native assets reports are not enough, you should definitely check out those in this ITSM Reports app.

There is an asset report that can be helpful, and it's more comprehensive. And it works on native gadgets.

You can check the example here in the documentation :) https://docs.appsvio.com/itsm-reports/assets-reports/assets-structure

Hope it helps!

Thank you!

I installed the ITSM Reports app (nice to know that it is free app).

So I have a schema with attribute user status = active/Inactive. This is just one of many attributes.

I want to generate a chart which shows the count of objects (User Status, User Location) etc.

Following the instructions here, I need to add SLA - Met % to the dashboard. However, there is no "SLA - Met %" in the list of avialable gadgets. Also I am not sure how "SLA - Met %" is related to Assets.

Can you guide how to get this working?
