Is it possible to generate attachment links that can be generated via automation rules?

I understand the potential security risk of potentially exposing files to anyone with the link, however, weighing the costs we're ok with having a generated link available for 28 days that we would like to share with users.

We have the setting enabled to allow attachment downloads without logging in, we even tested by updating the attachment URL to use the method in this article, Jira Automation: 403 - Forbidden when opening email attachments sent to Customers | Jira | Atlassian Documentation

but the system is still asking users to log in.  Our case is slightly different, we are using a webrequest to send an attachment URL to another system, using the customershim/secure URL, but in all cases, the associate needs to log in to download.

Is there a smartvalue that can be used to generate the attachment link that doesn't require log in?  We are trying to avoid having to add our accounts payable team to each request so they can download the attachment from their system.

I need guidance.

  • I want to send a ticket to my customer from inside the ticket portal, and I attached a file to the ticket.

I created an automation. When a ticket is created, it should send an email to a custom field which is my customer's email, and the email is sent to my customer.

My problem is :  The email sent to my customer from the automation does not contain the attached file.

don't want the customer to log into the service desk via a link and see the file; I want the attached file sent to their email.

My problem is : And also, I want the customer to be able to attach a file to their email reply received through the automation, and I want to see the customer's response with the attached file inside the ticket comments

Does Jira Service Desk have this capability in automation?

Hi there.
Is there a way for me, let's say the assignee to also receive this secure link?
Or is there a way as a project administrator to find this secure link in any way if I'm not the Reporter?

I have a scenario, where the customer notification part is switched off, custom email notifications are being send out via automation rules and was wondering if there's a way to get this secure link generated for the attachments.

@Michelle Tan and @Adolfo Eloy

How would I go about to use automations to send external-viewable attachment links?

Adding a normal comment will be visible for externals, but using a smart value to list the attachments does only grant the portal-view link :/
