CVE-2019-15001

Jeff Hutchins September 26, 2019

Needing to upgrade Jira Service Desk.

Jira Software is 8.2.3 and Service Desk is 4.2.4

Having problems locating just the Service Desk upgrade to 4.2.5 (which is recommended) but did find the core 8.4.1 upgrade.

Does the 4.2.5 upgrade exist?

Hi Jeff,

The download page is optimized for the latest bugfix version of the latest minor release. This can make it difficult to get the latest bugfix versions for previous builds! Here's how you can do it:

  1. Head over to https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/service-desk/update
  2. Click the "View all versions" link next to the current version listed on the page (4.4.1 as of today)
  3. In the bottom left of the popup window, click the minor version dropdown

  4. Select 4.2, which will get you the latest bugfix version in that minor release (4.2.5). Clicking "Choose this version" now will get you back to the operating system selector / download agreement page with the version you wanted.

Once you've run the installer, Core & Service Desk will be upgraded. You'll still need to upgrade Jira Software, which you can do from the Versions & licenses page once Jira has started up.

Cheers,
