I'm impressed by the flexible configurability of this product and wondering if anyone has attempted to tweak its Views and Fields in a way that enables managing emerging technology impact on the various business sectors in the forms of innovative products, services, and ways of conducting business.

Hi @Technopsis Informatics we've seen teams use the product for many things we didn't initially design it for (because of the flexibility given by fields and views). We ourselves use it for tracking competitors for example (and rating their relative strategic importance, etc.). We'd love to hear what you come up with!

Thank you Tanguy.

I'll definitely share what I'm planning as it materializes.

Hi @Tanguy Crusson , how do you do that tracking of competitors? Is there a video or article you've shared that?

We have a "type" field of type "select", with quite a few values but in particular these ones:

  • Boulders: big problems to tackle.
  • Pebbles: relatively small asks from users we can implement quickly
  • Improvements: features we've shipped
  • Competitors

Then we create views where we filter by "type".

  • The "Roadmap" view only has "Boulders" and "Improvements"
  • The "Opportunities" view only has Boulders
  • The "Improvements" view has "Pebbles" and "Improvements"
  • The "Competitors" view only has "Competitors"

In all views we show the "Insights" field. When we receive user feedback we tag it to the relevant ideas. In the case of competitors it's for example when someone mention they're trying to move to our product from a competing app, or when they ask for something they liked from a competing app, or snippets from blogs from competitors, etc. We also have a couple of fields to decide how strategic/important they are to us.
