How about adding the ability to choose the tooltip of the ratings in the rating field?

It's quite cool that we can change the colors of the ratings in the rating field, and that we can edit the general description/tool tip of the field.

But it would be even cooler if we could alter the tooltip of each rating. Right now I couldn't find how to do that, and it seems like it is always between "Very low" and "Very high".

We would like to use it for efforts, using the T-Shirt sizes, as this is the way we work. i.e.:

Very low = XS, low = S, medium = M, high = L and very high = XL.

Thanks for the feedback! We'll pass it along to engineering since it's not currently possible to alter the tooltip of each rating.

In the meantime, a Single select custom field could be a good alternative since these also allow for a weighted option, along with naming each:

Indeed a Single select is an alternative that gives a comparable solution, but the rating field is much better UX wise as it is much "lighter" in the sense of not needing to open a dropdown.

I saw Edmunds video on using JPD for idea triage, and he uses many rating fields, adding the labels to each rating in the field's main tooltip, while trying to avoid the label for each rating (since it is not relevant to what the rating actually means).

So if this limitation can be lifted, I am sure many will be able to use the rating field in a much more comfortable way.
