Bug? - Adding insight from Jira Comment

Ben Arundel January 20, 2023

Hey

I wanted to create an insight based on a JIRA Comment, JIRA lets me copy a link directly to the comment. Still, when I add it into Product Discovery as an insight, It includes a bunch of JIRA ticket info and not the actual comment.

It would be nice if it displayed the comment, which is what I kind of what I expected.

Sorry, couldn't include a screenshot without a bunch of team-specific stuff.

These are the options for what is displayable when you use this feature:

Maybe we can have a comments option to link. But, in the meantime we could copy paste the comment in the text box.

Hello,

Indeed, adding an insight link is not going to populate the insight description, you would still manually need to add a description, in your case it would be the comment.

As Minesh pointed out, the data displayed from the ticket is customizable, so you can remove the ones you think aren't necessary, but the Comments cannot be added, as these data are more "closed" fields.

To avoid a copy and paste, and switching between tools, I would suggest using the Chrome extension - I've created a loom here. You can highlight the comment, and even add a description.

Now, your feedback makes complete sense and I can even think about other usecases where this could be useful, so I'm adding your suggestion in our internal Discovery project ;)

Cheers,

Hermance
