Hi Jira Product Discovery team, we are getting adoption across my organization of this product and we are looking at implementing some automation.
One of the automation we would like to implement: automatically trigger status transition in my Idea workflow based on status changed of linked Delivery issues. For instance, if my linked Epic transitions from "In Progress" to "In QA", I would like to update my Idea status to "Staging" (assuming those are existing status in my workflows).
I tried implementing that from Product Discovery directly, but it doesn't seem to be possible from the Product Discovery workflow.
I have also tried to create a Global Automation rule for Jira, but I was not able to find the "Idea" issue type.
Is this type of automation something currently possible? Or maybe planned on your roadmap?
You are using the Component "Transition issue" to transition the issue AND edit fields (in this case the "Stage" field). Either you don't have a transition screen defined on the transition to your "Not Now" status or, if you do, you don't have the "Stage" field on the transition screen.
To avoid the error, you have 2 options:
Thank you very much @Gary Spross
I had in the transition the Stage field checkbox enabled, I disabled it and everything is working as expected now.
Cheers,
Edouard

Hi @Edouard Parison ,
If all other suggestions in this post fail, feel free to open a ticket with JPD support.
We've noticed that specific error has been related to the A4J (Automation for Jira) user not having correct JPD permissions, and this can only be enabled from the support / Atlassian side.

Hi @Nick Haller,
I had this issue and changed the user from "Automation for Jira" to me.
I could then make the automation working.
However I would be happy to have the "Automation for Jira" user having the correct JPD permissions.
How can I help you there?
Cheers,
Edouard

To better understand this, can you send us a screenshot of the whole automation?
regards
