Field Carry Over to Jira Projects

Is it possible to carry over fields and field content when creating a delivery issue in a Jira engineering project?

We'd like to have some of the information/data fields from the Idea also available for our engineers in the issues they are working on to deliver solutions to the idea. Currently they have to navigate to the Idea in the Discovery project to view additional information. We may end up manually duplicating the fields in the Engineering project issues so that they don't have to perform the extra navigation. It would be nicer to select which Idea fields get copied over and populated when a Deliver issue is created.

I have the same issues with Jira Product Discovery and my roadmap planing becoming less and less user friendly.

Long list of Quarters because of the previous year

and placing ideas with spaces within a column is the most annoying, cuz it requires me to review all the views I shared with users and drag ideas to top, so that the roadmap is not taking enormous amount of space

@Leah Maggin I don't understand very well the first option you mentioned. Could you maybe add a picture? And what do you mean with your sentence: 'Additionally it does not appear I can create a board with the columns as dates.'

Sure - This is how I am currently organizing.

This means I have to make an option for every quarter of every year. Which means this dropdown will get very cluttered as time goes on.

I have the exact same issue. Without year designations, it becomes extremely limited. Any view filters by "Q1" will pull in future work for 2025Q1, and also past work from 2024Q1. Yes, I could further filter by status or some other field, but that means anyone using the tool has to remember all the ways they need to filter out data sets to make them useful. Or do what you did, which means the list of quarters becomes unmanageable. Any other custom field will essentially suffer the same fate. It seems like being able to hide/archive field options that are associated to time based fields would be a no brainer. Kind of like FixVerion on the delivery side where you can filter to unreleased (i.e. hasn't happened yet) quarters only in the drop down. Or show released quarters which would allow you to pick from everything.
