Delivery Status by Epic

Hi there! When I started working in JPD, I linked all of our backlog epics to ideas and could see the rollup by story or bug under the epic on the idea card. Something changed sometime last week, and now I can only see the number of epics. Obviously, this isn't showing a good view of the outstanding work we have before an idea can be released. I've tried unlinking and relinking the epics, and that didn't solve the problem. 

Is this a sign that something broke in development, or is this the way delivery status will be communicated going forward?

If a JPD project has restricted access such as set to Private, users will not be able to open the project. In turn, the project would not appear/be selectable when trying to create a new issue or idea. 

Having said that - depending on the user's JPD role would also depend on whether or not the project appears in the Projects tab. For example with some quick testing:

• If a contributor is not granted access to a Private project, it would not appear under their Projects tab.
• If a creator does not have access to a Private project, it would appear under their Projects tab - but they would not be able to open project nor create an idea for that project.

That doc linked above explains the access each project's configuration would have:

Private - Only the users you specify can open the project.

Limited - Everyone can open the project but only users you specify can act as creators.

Open - Everyone can open the project, any user with product access can act as a creator.

A colleague of mine also mentioned another solution might be to create a custom role which doesn't have the create idea permission selected, and assign it to your user(s) to limit them:

Thanks, so the only way to limit the visibility of certain projects is to make them limited and manage the user access. Correct?

The "Switch project" dropdown menu provides access anyway to all the projects (not just the JPD ones) we created in Jira. Then this can be a problem as if they select one of them, a user can create a new Story/Epic in those projects
