In the webinar this week, I believe I saw an upcoming feature to publish views that do not require a jira license. First, if I saw this right is there a target date for this feature? Second, is this view read-only or will it be possible for these external users to contribute to the ideas in anyway, or even add their own ideas?
Thanks
Hi David! We're currently wrapping up an early access program for this feature and progressively rolling it out to everyone. I think it's been turned on for 10% of customers today (or it should be this week) and then we're going to progressively turn on for all.
It's read-only for now for people who are not in the site at all.
@Tanguy Crusson , so where is the feature? I can't see a publish button.

Atlassian hasn't officially announced a feature to publish Jira views without requiring a license. The details on the release date and whether external users can contribute are unclear. For the latest information, check Atlassian's official announcements or contact their support team.

Hi @David
I believe you can have free users now - Contributors.
See this help page and this page...
Contributors need a free Atlassian account, and are free users in Jira Product Discovery.
Can use features based on what Creators make available
- Open views
- Add comments, insights, votes, and reactions
- Create ideas
Cannot
Edit ideas
Create and edit fields and views
Administer the project
---
It looks like these users can create ideas, but not modify them.
There's also a 3rd role coming, Stakeholders. See this article for more information.

From an article I just read, it said contributors must have access to another Jira product. What I'm trying to do is expose a view to my customers who do not have Jira access.
The goal is to have customers provide direct contributions to ideas.
I'm hoping the publish feature I think I saw this week will provide that.

Hi @David
You need an Atlassian account as a Contributor, but the articles I linked appear to confirm you don't need a Jira license.
I'd recommend giving it a go based on that?

I plan on giving this a try since we have a smaller subset of our customer base that I can test with. But realistically, I don't want to have to setup a user for every one of our customers. My hope is to be able to publish views out and let any one of our customers engage without us first having to set them up as a user. That's thousands of users and growing.
But I will use your suggestion to get started.
