I have a JPD board set up for a group of PMs. The board has a folder of views that combines all of the ideas for each PM in the group, and then each PM has their own folder of views that are set up generally the same as the group views. Example: "Main" Roadmap view has fields A, B, and C, and is grouped by Product Area; the "Individual" Roadmap view has fields A, B, and C, and is filtered to one value in the Product Area field.
We have instructed our PMs to manually order their ideas in order of priority in their "Individual" roadmap views, but that ordering is not reflected in the "Main" roadmap view.
What are we doing wrong?
Hi @Stephen Wood , the rank of ideas is shared across all views in the project (cc @Ted). Meaning if ideas are ranked 1, 2, 3 in one view and you move 3 up (so it becomes 1, 3, 2) then any view showing the same ideas will have them in the order 1, 3, 2.
That assumes that there is no other sort applied in each view (sort takes priority over rank)
Would you mind sharing a video recording of your setup (please open each of the menus to show us the configuration of each view) and send it to tcrusson@atlassian.com? We'll see if we can help you troubleshoot this. Thanks.
@Tanguy Crusson is there a work around here at all
I have multiple views for diff product streams and I need to prioritise them - I need to able to set the priority order across a program of work without it flowing on to every board.
My product team are prioritising their items but due to that its influencing all other views I have.

@Peter Heidorn For that use case:

What mechanism are the PM's using to order the ideas, my assumption is that a different sorting logic is appied on the parent view.

@NC — we do not have Sort applied on either view. The “Main” view has grouping applied, and “Individual” views have filtering applied.
