Hi - I'm seeing several posts related to automating issue/priority scoring but I'm looking for information on how to get setup for the basics. We use Aha and in that tool, you can score enhancement requests based on fields of your choice (revenue, customers impacted, etc.)
We keep our bugs/defects in Jira and I want to do the same thing in Jira. Is that possible?
Scoring bugs would help us prioritize. I would like to score a bug on factors such as (compliance, cost, customers impacted, etc.) and then end up with a total score. Then I can build a filter to sort by highest score first.
Is it possible to score issues in Jira? If so, where can that be set up?
Hi @LG ,
JPD does offer custom formulas which may help your use case. There's a few different types such as weighted scores or even write your own formula that can take the value of multiple fields and calculate a total which helps determine which ideas have a greater impact based on the score.
For example, a lot of customers measure their ideas with a RICE score:
They'll create a rating (or similar) field for each metric mentioned above, and create the SCORE (write your own formula) which can then provide better visibility into everything holistically.
You can also use similar fields mentioned above a weigh them among all ideas as well. Below are two examples of a RICE score (write your own formula) and an Impact Score (weighted score):
Hopefully that provides some insight into the possibilities to help meet your use case.
Thanks @Nick Haller - I didn't realize I was in something called "Jira Product Discovery" - i'm just asking for this in regular Jira Cloud. I'll post a question in that group... (i hadn't heard of JPD and was thinking it was just a way to categorize forum questions)
