Is there a way for the Slack integration to limit fields?

Would like to use the Slack integration but it always displays every possible field for an idea, not just the ones we have selected for new idea entry.

Thanks Amina, we do not want people adding ideas and also selecting people to work on it and deciding the impact of their own ideas. Just a simple form would be nice, ideally one where you do not have to select workspace and project each time.

I believe the Slack integration should only be sending the Summary, Description*, Status, Type, Assigned and Priority fields depending on the Notification style option selected under the project's Settings >> Slack integration tab:

*if the Truncated option is selected, the idea's Description will not send through the Slack message when a new idea is created. The Description should only send when the Show entire text for summary, description, comment, and worklog option is selected.

As for controlling other fields, that doesn't seem to be an option available within the integration - so not entirely sure how you might be sending additional fields to Slack.

Thanks for the information Nick. I meant for when I create an idea from Slack with /jira create. Every field is exposed when I only want summary and description. Just trying to find a simple way to accept ideas into Product Discovery.

After some testing, I don't think it's possible to limit Slack to only having select fields available when creating an idea with /jira create like it is with JPD templates / Customizing an idea form.

I'll get some sort of feature request entered in the meantime.

Hi Nick, I believe that is only for messages from Jira to Slack.

I mean when a new idea is created from Slack.... every possible field is displayed, not the fields I have selected in the Admin panel to create an idea.

Same for the API access, give the user a direct URI to submit an idea and you get a form with every possible idea field. A bit confusing and exposing to many things.
