How to track all the changes in a field?

Hi all,

I would need to track all the historical changes of a certain field.
E.g. have a list of all the changes of a date field, starting from when the idea has been created, possibly even who changed it and when.

It will allow us to track how things have moved since the first discovery phase.

Thanks

Hi @Paolo Pastorino

You can get some data in the History section. It provides the info on who changed it and when, including custom fields. However, it doesn't provide history for all fields.

Does it show the info you need, or do you have something else in mind?

I have a "Dev End Date" field and I would like to get an extract of the history changes of that field only for all the ideas in a project

I'm not sure if there is some built-in option to fit your case. I can suggest trying Issue History for Jira app from my team. It records changes for custom fields. So, you can filter by the "Dev End Date" field or any other field and get changes.

Here is an example with "My field":

There is a 30-day free trial, so you can check if it works for you.

@Paolo Pastorino what exactly do you mean by "track"?

JPD keeps the history same / similar way as Jira - you have the history tab where you can see  all the changes with who, what and when changed.

But as with Jira you will run into issues if you want to create filters and run reports based on this in Jira as this is not supported for custom fields.

I have a "Dev End Date" field and I would like to get an extract of the history changes of that field only for all the ideas in a project. I cannot manage that with a filter (I can handle custom field somehow) as it takes a snapshot, not the historical data with all the changes
