Hi all,
We are exploring moving our historical backlog of ideas, customer interviews, user research notes, etc into JPD to have a searchable database of content in this tool as we used to have in the tool that we are currently using.
We ran into an issue that Jira searches only idea headlines for keywords but doesn't search descriptions and other fields. This is a major downside for us because our database of notes that we have collected in another tool is very valuable.
How do you approach this problem of unsearchable descriptions? Maybe you are using some custom solutions from the Atlassian marketplace?
And if someone from the JPD Product team reads this note, please add a feature of advanced search :)
Hi Alina! One potential workaround is to use Jira's search functionality ("Filters > View all issues").
From there, you can pull add the "Description" field as a filter, and input text to filter for specific ideas whose Description field contains that term:
But I agree, the ability to filter/search on the description field in JPD would be very useful.
Best,
Andy
Can't you just do a search on text using simple JQL?
Here, I'm searching my Product Discovery project called 'DIY' for any text fields containing the word improve...
