How to display the system Assignee field as full name with avatar in board view?

Currently, it appears that the system field 'Assignee' in JPD doesn't have the display options like the People field does.

 

In a JPD board view, the system 'Assignee' field only displays as an avatar (without a name).

The board view already displays the user's avatar and full name for a field with the 'People' field type (e.g. 'Owner') [see screenshot below], so I don't see why the system 'Assignee' field can't be displayed the same way.

My goal is to have the 'Assignee' field displays as an avatar with full name in a board view, like it already does in the list view.

@Nick Haller - thx for your comments. Apologies, I should've been more clear.

Correct, it does display the name when selecting an assignee and when viewing it in a list view.

To clarify, I meant to add that I'm looking to have the 'Assignee' displayed as the user's avatar and full name on an idea in the board view, like it does for a field with the 'People' field type, such as the 'Owner' field shown  in the screenshot below.

Thanks for clarifying! That makes more sense.

At this time I don't believe it's possible to display both the user's name and avatar in a Board view. But I also believe this is by design due to this type of view being more compact so it's compacting this field/assignee as well.

@Nick Haller - yep, I'm going to submit this feedback to the JPD team.

But as I show in my screenshot, the board view already displays the Owner/People field with the avatar and full name already, so I don't see why the system 'Assignee' field can't be displayed the same way. It's still compact and fits nicely.

Hi David,

Custom people-fields allow you to configure displaying either the users' avatar, or full name with avatar on ideas.

The Assignee is a system-field, and system fields cannot be edited - which is why this flexibility might not be offered at the moment.

I know the functionality also differs from List to Board view - but I wanna say the current behavior is by design.

Regardless - I see you have entered your feedback with engineering so I've linked this Community post, and included additional information. Hopefully engineering considers these visibility improvements / suggestions in the future.

Users' avatars and full name should display when selecting an assignee:

But only creators can be assigned an idea, while custom-people field(s) can be assigned to any contributor or creator.
