Editing custom fields

Can Creators edit fields and its values, such as "Goal"? It seems like only Org Admin can do that. We're testing the free version with the 3 free users. Thanks.

Hi @Marek Cais : creators can do that, but they need to be given the "administrator" role in the project. That lets them create/configure fields (like "Goals"). It only gives them the ability to configure things in the project, not in the rest of Jira (only org/site admins can do that).

You should ask your org admin to make you an administrator of that project.

Hi @Marek Cais

In Jira Product Discovery, editing permissions depend on user roles:

Creators: These users can edit the values of existing fields, such as "Goal." However, they cannot modify the structure or configuration of these fields. User roles in Jira Product Discovery

Manage project roles

Org Admins or Project Admins can edit field settings and structure, such as adding options or renaming fields.

In the free version of Jira Product Discovery, there are limitations on the number of Creators and certain features, which may affect permissions. If a Creator can’t edit field values, check if they need Project Admin access or consider a trial of the paid version for more flexibility
