Can I use a Jira system field in Jira Product Discovery? I can't seem to find a way to do this.

Hi @PATRICIA MURPHY ,

As @Harrison Ponce mentioned, you can use the JPD global fields to add system fields into JPD ideas. Having said that, JPD does not have a priority field at this time - so this field cannot be selected.

A workaround (or for visual purposes) we on the JPD support team have been suggesting is using a global Rating field instead to display the "priority" of the idea.

Something like this:

Another benefit of this workaround is the ability to plug a rating field into a custom formula as well if that is something you and your team would also be interested in.

Hi @PATRICIA MURPHY !

You can use some Jira fields (system or custom) in JPD but not all types are compatible. If you go to project settings in your JPD project, and navigate to Fields on the sidebar, you should see a button for Add global field. Here you can filter on Jira fields and it will show you the compatible ones.

More detail about this including why some fields may be unavailable can be found on this guide!

Hope this helps!

As far as priority goes, I haven't seen that in there yet. A lot of how I think they want us to use JPD is by prioritizing via scores that you create with formulas based off of other fields (e.g., impact, effort, urgency, etc.)

Specifically, I want to use the Jira "Priority" field in JPD.
