Hi everyone,
We experienced 2 outages in the past 12 hours, each lasting for 1-2 hours. They were linked to the same code change, reverted the first time by the team in the US but re-deployed by the team in Europe in the morning because of miscommunication (we do multiple deployments a day). The system is stable now.
We take the stability of Jira Product Discovery very seriously as you depend on it for your day-to-day job. We're doing a post incident review when everyone's online tonight.
In this particular case I believe it's symptomatic of our work to move from alpha to beta. Initially we built a lot of features very fast, and as we started to received clear signals of product-market fit we started to focus more on polishing the experience, addressing the technical debt, and making the necessary changes so the system is able to handle more users at scale. Most of these changes went through unnoticed, but we also introduced bugs on the way - and yesterday these outages. We'll review our approach tonight and discuss the best way forward.
We'll give you an update soon on this topic.
Cheers,
Tanguy and the Jira Product Discovery team
