Quick update: we've just rolled out the feature for everyone!

What we've added to the feature today is a template library with examples of what we use in the Jira Product Discovery team today, in case that's helpful
@Tanguy Crusson This new feature is great, huge improvement.
One suggestion would be to allow for adding actual placeholders to templates. This would still allow guidance text like you all have in the your library templates, but would avoid inconsistency/noise in the actual ticket, given people may or may not delete/replace it as they fill things out.

We have a suggestion thus far:
One thing we can see that we would really like to do with the new template feature is be able to 'Default' a specific template within a JPD project, so that whenever an Idea is created by project users the Description field in the Idea always presents the 'default' template that we want for all ideas - as a way of steering all staff that use a JPD project to use it in a consistent manner that is intended by the Product Owner. (by all means still let the user manually change the template themselves in the current Idea they are working on... but allowing the project admin to default the template for every Idea would be super!)
Obviously you would want this ability to 'Default' a template to be optional of course, but we can definitely see the benefit of this as a user-friendly way of keeping staff on a uniform path in how Ideas are written up.
The other alternative suggestion would be to have an automation rule action that allows you to apply a template instantly upon creation of an Idea.
Sidenote: I noticed a template could not be added to the Description field if the 'Create' issue screen form (via yellow button) was used to create the idea. The template can only be added to the Idea once its created.
I agree with @Matt Lane. For this to work for us we would have to have a template applied by default rather than giving the user the option to select a template.
We would want to roll this out to the business so that anyone can raise an idea, so would like to make this as user friendly as possible.
Seconding what @Matt Lane recommended. We're currently manually adding templates to hundreds of ideas and would definitely make things easier if we could pre-load a template into a description field.
Hey @Tanguy Crusson template is a great feature! One suggestion: currently populating a template is a bit hidden. Need to press two buttons. It will be great to shorten the path. Is there a way to include one template by default in the description field? I know that's possible in Jira Software.
