A big update: sharing with anonymous users, better comments, Jira Software Advanced Roadmaps

Hi everyone!

It's been a while: I was on vacation for a couple of weeks and got back up to speed on all the things this week. Today's update is pretty big as we have a number of things we've been working on for a while landing in production in the next week.

  • Sharing a view with a user who doesn't have a Jira account
  • A better way to comment on ideas
  • "Who's looking?" - knowing who's got a view open
  • Support for Jira Software Advanced Roadmaps tickets (uber epics, initiatives, etc.)

Let us know what you think!

Cheers,

Tanguy

VERY excited to see the update allowing sharing with people who don't have a Jira link - awesome work team! Is there any plan to allow commenting/discussion on these features for these logged out users? Or the ability to open the roadmap items to view details

Hi @Jessie Renton - we're most likely going to do the latter: letting anonymous users view some level of details. What would you like to show?

As for commenting: this is actually not possible in - for any action that is more than viewing we need to have an identity for the user performing the action. With that constraint in mind, what we're looking at doing instead is letting anyone with an Atlassian account comment and vote. Users will need an Atlassian account (https://id.atlassian.com/signup) but not necessarily access to Jira or any other Atlassian product.

YAY!!! for Advanced Roadmaps tie in!  This is huge and super useful.

Also, love the share with non Jira users piece as well!!!

@Tanguy Crusson great to hear :D - ideally we allow anonymous users to open the idea cards and see the details and discussion. Our use case is sharing with our wider company, who all have an Atlassian account just not access to Jira so that would work well in terms of commenting also.
